Mpeg Layer 3, or MP3's, give you CD-Quality sound without the large file size. Mp3's deliver 44 kHz stereo sound quality with limited space taken up. For example, a 5 minute CD track sampled at 44 kHz stereo will take almost 60MB of disk space when saved as a wav file. The MP3 of the same 5 minute CD track would only take 5MB.

There are a number of MP3 players out there but the best, in my opinion, is WinAmp. WinAmp offers your fast-forward, rewind, pause, etc. The newer versions allow you to edit the ID3 tags (Song/Artist Display).
